The developers of the current version of the HTML editor used in Deskie have stopped supporting it. It has several bugs, including slow performance in certain cases and incorrect behavior when inserting specific HTML tags. We cannot fix these bugs ourselves because it would require a significant amount of time and would likely introduce other bugs.
The new HTML editor should:
- work faster, as it will be built with pure JavaScript;
- eliminate the bugs of the old version;
- provide more text formatting options.
We will make every effort to ensure a smooth transition from the old editor to the new one. However, this is a challenging task because many features are tied to the current editor, and we will need to thoroughly test various scenarios before launching the new editor.
